When I started to think about what to talk about in my reflections i instantly thought about Denia, the place where I spend every summer since i was 4 years old. More concretely I thought about the castle it has so I started to investiagate.

This castle was used as a fortress in the era of piracy of the Mediterranean. Its design goes back to the islamic period (s.XI-XII). Since then, some reforms have been made on the castle for it to be a touristic place to visit without any risk. During the civil war, they created a tunnel as a bomb shelter. It was created between 1937 and 1938 to protect the civilian population from the bombardments of the La Pava aviation. Once the war was over, it remained open, thus linking two parts of the city.
